Managing stress for NEET 2025

Managing stress for NEET 2025

Hello everyone, this is Shahul, Founder and CEO of Memoneet. Today, I want to talk about a common issue many students face: stress resting. When you’re overwhelmed by the pressure to study and your body needs rest, you can find yourself stuck in a frustrating situation where you can't do either effectively. I’ve been there myself, and I know how challenging it can be. So, let’s dive into how you can manage this stress and get back on track.

Understanding Stress Resting

Stress resting occurs when you're too stressed to sleep, yet too tired to study effectively. It's a vicious cycle that many students fall into, leading to decreased productivity and increased anxiety. The only real solutions to break this cycle are either to sleep or to study—nothing else will help you overcome this type of stress.

Drawbacks of Social Media

Many students, when stressed, turn to social media for a break. However, this can quickly become a trap, pulling you into a loop of endless scrolling, which only adds to your stress. Remember, social media is not the answer to your stress resting. Instead, focus on either sleeping or studying—these are the only activities that will help you feel better and regain control.

How to Trick Your Brain into Falling Asleep

If you find yourself unable to sleep because you're stressed, one effective trick is to make your brain feel like you've done something productive. Here's a simple technique: grab a notebook and plan your next day. Write down what you want to study, the tasks you aim to accomplish, and any tests you need to prepare for. This small act of planning can give you a sense of satisfaction, tricking your brain into believing that you’ve already achieved something, which can help you relax and fall asleep.

Avoid Unreasonable Targets

Another reason for stress resting is setting unreasonable study targets. Many students push themselves to study 10, 12, or even 16 hours a day, which is often unsustainable. Your body becomes exhausted, and stress takes over. However, it’s important to note that it's not about the quantity of hours you study, but the quality. I've seen students who study effectively for just 4 hours a day and still excel in exams like NEET.

Two Strategies to Combat Stress Resting

✔️Prevention: Avoid setting unrealistic study goals. Instead, set achievable targets that you can realistically meet. This approach reduces stress and increases your chances of success.

✔️Intervention: If you find yourself caught in stress resting and unable to sleep, use the planning technique mentioned above. By organizing your next day, you can calm your mind and improve your chances of falling asleep.

Final Thoughts

Stress resting is a common problem, but it’s not insurmountable. By understanding the triggers and implementing these strategies, you can break the cycle and maintain your productivity. Remember, it’s not about how many hours you put in, but how effectively you use them. Stay focused, plan smartly, and don’t let stress take over. You’ve got this!
